Cátia Kossovsky

Cátia Kossovsky, Esq. heads the Corporate and Securities Practice for Hoban Law Group.  She has close to two decades of corporate transactional experience with a focus in M&A and private financing.  She received her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law. 

Prior to joining Hoban, she worked as in-house counsel for a private equity company and at two AM200 law firms, in New York and Pittsburgh, where she handled general corporate law, commercial transactions, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, private equity (including fund formation), venture capital financing, regulatory compliance, and securities filings. Additionally, Cátia has experience with crossborder transactions, specifically with a focus on Latin America, and has conducted corporate governance, compliance monitoring, and management of operational risk.  

Cátia was recently named as a  2019 Cannabis Law Trailblazer by the National Law Journal.

Outside of her role at Hoban, Cátia is the Chair of Allegheny County (PA) Bar Association’s Medical Marijuana and Hemp Committee, she sits on the Board of Directors of the International Cannabis Bar Association (INCBA), and two non-profit boards that she is extremely passionate about (one a local newspaper, the other a horse hippotherapy organization).

Cátia was born in Brazil and moved to New York as a child.  She is fluent in Portuguese and conversational Spanish.
