Kathy has served as the organization’s chief officer for providing strategy and oversight to external relationships, fund development, marketing and communications since 2013.  Kathy was born in Naples, Italy when her Air Force father was stationed there, and grew up surrounded by military in every place she has called home. Kathy has been a North Carolinian since 1981 and in the Triad since 1993.

Kathy has over twenty-five years of leadership and executive experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors working extensively on behalf of the military and military families including executive roles at Caring Services, an organization that provided housing, treatment and job training to homeless veterans and Executive Director of Patriot Rovers, an organization providing mental health service dogs and support services to soldiers with PTSD and/or Traumatic Brain Injury. Kathy has also been involved with Stop Soldier Suicide, a nonprofit dedicated to the prevention of soldier suicide through outreach and support services. She a served as the NC lead in coordinating the national model COMCO (Celebration of the Military Child Outside) and as the Director of Guilford’s Promise, an affiliate of the National Children’s Promise.  She is President of Bull Consulting, Inc., and has provided consulting services to small start-up businesses as well as local, state and national nonprofits. She is the co-founder of the North Carolina Children and Nature Coalition, past Director of Marketing and Development for the global Children and Nature Network, and the former Chief Operations Officer and registered lobbyist for the NC Zoo Society. She has been active in both Triad and statewide community organizations including Partners Ending Homelessness, Guilford Substance Abuse Coalition and High Point Violence Prevention Task Force and served on the Boards of the United Way of High Point, High Point Chamber of Commerce, ARC of NC,  NC Partnership for Children, Junior League and Rotary Club. She has served on She has been a guest lecturer at UNC-Chapel Hill, High Point University and Greensboro College, a Fellow at the Institute for Family Studies at UNC-Greensboro and on advisory committees for Greensboro College and GTCC.  Kathy frequently speaks at conferences and training seminars across the state.

Kathy is an avid runner, passionate public speaker, writer and advocate with a firm belief that servant leadership is not something to do but what we should strive to be.
