Murat received his bachelor degree in Business and Marketing in 1989 and started his convenience store career as a cashier in Atlanta, Georgia. 3 years later, he joined Crown Central Petroleum as a store manager trainee. In Murat’s 12 years with that company, he held positions as a Store Manager, District Manager, Regional Trainer, Recruiter, Senior District Manager and Regional Vice President. These positions allowed him and his family to reside in Atlanta, Washington DC and Raleigh, North Carolina.
Murat joined Huck’s in 2004 as a Division Manager in Carmel, Indiana. He was promoted to Regional Director in 2007, Vice President of Operations in 2008 and the and executive vice president in 2015. In May 2018, he became President and CEO of Martin and Bayley. Murat and his wife Aisha have two children, Joy, 14 and Jon, 18. They reside in Newburgh, Indiana. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also enjoy collecting vinyl records and cooking.
Murat is very passionate about our industry and spends most of his time in the company’s stores (not an office person). Most of his ideas come from either interacting with customers and/or associates.
